    Contest Success!
We had a great contest year: Sunrise pilots brought home eleven contestant trophies, Gold and Silver medals in the California Championships and three Top Scoring School awards.
April--Borrego Mini. Fernado Scalini and Joe Belcher ruled Primary with First and Third. This was also Daniel Wisehart's first Sportsman competition and he brought home a very creditable Fourth.
May--Los Angeles Gold Cup. In Apple Valley Daniel took Third place, Sportsman (a significant accomplishment in a Decathlon), Cory Woodsum won First place Primary, and Endo Hiroyasu broke into the winner's circle in Intermediate with a Third place trophy.
June--Paso Robles. Cory Woodsum took second place Primary and Endo improved his ranking with a Second place finish in Intermediate.
Delano--Cory Woodsum was First in Primary, and Endo took Third Intermediate
October--Borrego Akrofest. Endo completed his trophy run by taking First Place Intermediate. This was a fitting triumph for a pilot whose discipline and talent simply had to bring him to the top. To cap it off, the victory sewed up a Silver medal for Endo in the 2009 California Championships. Also continuing in the winning column, Cory Woodsum took First Place Primary.
    Best Scoring Aerobatic School
. Along the way, Sunrise took Top Aerobatic School trophies at three of the five 2009 contests: Borrego Mini, Apple Valley and Borrego Akrofest.
Nationals--We sent Daniel Wisehart in the S-2B off to Texas in September for his first look at National Competition. You can see his posts about the experience on the Bulletin Board
    California Championships--What a year!
    • Primary Gold: Cory Woodsum.
    • Intermediate Silver: Endo.
    • Advanced Bronze: Patrick Dugan

Training Camp Success!
Chapter 120 has hosted four aerobatic training camps in 2009 with considerable success. In addition to contributing to the winning ways of every pilot named above, we have also helped Gray Brandt in Advanced: a near-miss in Apple Valley and Third place in Paso.
