INSTRUCTIONS
Format: This Aviation Board is divided into Categories (broad areas of interest), Forums (dedicated areas of discussion) and Topics (user-created "threads" and their replies).
Access: Anyone can browse the Forums and their threads, but only registered users can add content (new topics or replies).
Registration: Everyone interested may register: you need a user name, password and a usable email address (if you choose to create a "public" email address, we will keep your "real" address private).
Log In Info: If you lose your user name or password, you will be prompted to enter your email address so that we can send you the data.
Links: If you would like to post information on reaching another web site, you can create an active link by using the "chain" icon above the message pane.
Images: You can embed an image by using the image icon above the message pane and entering the image URL (image must already be posted on the web.
Attachments: Some forums permit attachments (text or graphic files) to posts. To access, use the "File Manager" link at the bottom of the posting window. Please limit attachments to (1) per post.
Embed video: Use the "screen" icon at the top of your message pane (fifth from the left) to embed any YouTube, Google, MySpace or Yahoo video.
"Watched Forums": It's easy to stay in touch: by using the "Forum Options" menu, any of the Forums can be set to launch an email to alert you of new posts.
Shout: The small vertical window on the left side of the screen allows an "instant message" option. Fill in the text box at the bottom of the shout window and press "Shout." These items are visible to all users.
Photo Gallery: The "Photo Gallery" Forum permits image uploads as large as 10MB. Small "thumbnails" of recent images show up in the left margin.
Downloads: The "Downloads" Forum provides a link to dozens of PowerPoint and other large files available for download.
Private Message: If you click on a name in the User List, you will see portions of the user's profile and have an opportunity to send a private message.
